Food Pantry Ministry and Outreach

Zion deeply cares about those in our community who are less fortunate and having tough times making ends meet.  Each Monday night from 6:45 to 7:30 pm we distribute numerous boxes of food to those in need.  Our food pantry ministry is blessed to help an average of 188 needy people each week with food.  Our food pantry would not be possible without the help of many volunteers and donors.  Our food pantry recipients also benefit from the generosity of Arkansas Rice Depot, the Arkansas Food Bank, and the Arkansas Hunters for the Hungry program as we distribute food to the poor for those agencies.  We also distribute clothing to those in need through our Clothes Closet that operates as an extension of our Food Pantry Ministry and Outreach.  Near the start of each school year, there are also volunteers that distribute school supplies to families in need.  Of course, we as the Body of Christ, also care for our neighbor’s spiritual needs.  We also provide a worship service thirty minutes prior to the start of our Food Pantry Ministry and Outreach for those who wish to attend.  Many of our friends who are experiencing hard times have come to find the Service of the Word comforting and a great help to sustain them through the week.
